Laura Schreibman is an authority on the experimental analysis and treatment of childhood autism, an area she has researched for 30 years. She specializes in the development of behavioral treatment of autism, as well as autism-related parent training, family issues, diagnostics, language disorders, attention deficits, and challenging behaviors.. She is an expert on behavior analysis and learning theory applied to human behavior (i.e., behavior modification) for all populations.

Schreibman has researched and written on social and behavioral aspects of the lives of autistic children, as well as the role of technologies in their learning and adaptation.
Background:
Dr. Schreibman came to UCSD in 1984. She is the director of the Autism Research Program on the UCSD campus. The program, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) since 1976, supports experimental research on the analysis and treatment of autism, emphasizing the development and evaluation of effective parent training interventions.
