Dr. Gary B. Mesibov is currently the Director of Division TEACCH. This internationally recognized statewide program is one of a kind in its pioneering approaches to research, service, training, treatment and the education of individuals with autism. Dr. Mesibov also serves as Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, and Clinical Professor, Department of Psychology.

Dr. Gary Mesibov, Director of Division TEACCH, was one of 5 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill employees honored on September 27, 2005, with the 2005 Chancellor's Award. Established in 1991, the award recognizes meritorious or distinguished accomplishments in leadership, innovation, and public service. At the luncheon recognizing the award winners, Dr. Mesibov's public service contributions to North Carolina and his innovative work in developing services and training programs for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders were cited.
